Team payments that do the math
Split the season fee into installments of any size, let people pay early or all at once, add a jersey order halfway through, and always know exactly who owes what.

One fee. Five very different situations.
Most teams do not collect one clean payment. The league fee comes in pieces, a few people pay the whole thing upfront, a jersey order lands in the middle of the season, and someone pays everything at once. By November nobody can say who owes what.
Rinkmate keeps the whole picture. Here is a $760 league fee, a $100 jersey order, and five players on November 15.
Jordan Bennett
Paid upfrontPaid the whole $760 league fee in September. Then the jersey order showed up, and that is the only thing they owe.
Casey Ortiz
On schedule$140 and $220 are in, so nothing is overdue. The $400 lands Dec 1, plus the jerseys.
Riley Reyes
BehindSent $50 and went quiet. The first payment is not even covered yet.
Morgan Nakamura
Not paid yetNothing in yet, so $360 is overdue. Can clear the whole $860 in one go.
Avery Alvarado
Paid it allPaid $860 at once. One entry covered the league fee and the jerseys.
Who is paid up, who owes, who is late
The Balances tab is the first thing a manager sees. Every player is sorted by who needs a nudge, with the most overdue at the top and the paid-up players at the bottom.
- Real totals. Collected against billed, what is outstanding, what is overdue and how many players are paid up.
- What is coming up. The next due dates and how much lands on each one.
- One tap to follow up. Remind everyone who owes, or copy a clean list of balances into the group chat.
Paid up
1$860 collected, nothing left to chase.
Owes, not late yet
2$600 still to come, and none of it is late.
Overdue
2$1,670 owed, $670 of it overdue.
Run each request on its own
Switch to the Requests tab to work one request at a time: the league fee, the jersey order, a tournament. See who has paid out of what they owe, who is overdue and how each payment arrived, then nudge only the people on that request or close it out.

Tap anyone for the whole picture
A player's balance sheet shows what they owe across every request, with each installment as a segment you can read at a glance: paid, overdue or still ahead.
- Record a payment for them, or let them record their own.
- Change the amount or waive it for a discount or a player who should not pay. Their schedule scales to match.
- Undo a mistake. A payment recorded by accident comes straight off their total.
- Add a late joiner to a request that went out before they joined.
- Send a personal reminder or copy a message with their exact balance.

Pay a little, or pay it all
Record any amount and pick how it arrived. The quick amounts cover what is overdue, the next payment, or the full balance.
Payments fill the earliest due date first, even across requests. Pay $760 upfront and the whole league fee is covered. Pay $860 at once and the league fee and the jersey order both clear. Pay $500 and the overdue payments are cleared, with the rest going toward what is next.

Build the plan your team actually has
Pick the total and how many payments, then set each amount and date. Teams rarely split a season evenly, so you do not have to. Set the first two payments and the last one adjusts so the plan always adds up.
Prefer a single due date? Leave it on all at once. Add a jersey order or a tournament fee as its own request and it joins everyone's balance.

Reminders that say the number
A reminder that says "you owe money" gets ignored. Rinkmate sends each player their own balance and anything overdue, so the message is the answer to "how much?"
Send one to everyone who owes, or just one player. Turn on the automatic reminder and each installment sends a push two days before it is due, only to players who are behind, with exactly what it takes to catch up.
Players see their own balance
Players get a simple view: what they owe, what is next, and an "I paid" button. Their record shows that they logged it, so a manager can always see who recorded what.
Players see the team total, but never names. Only managers see who has paid and who is behind.

The same numbers in your pocket
Everything above works on a phone. Tap a player, record a payment, set up a plan at the field or the rink, and the web and phone always show the same balances.

When the plan changes
A fee gets added mid-season
Create it as its own request. Balances update for everyone, and anyone who paid up earlier owes only the new fee.
Someone joins late
Add them to any request that went out before they joined, at the standard amount or a custom one.
A discount or a free ride
Change what one player owes, or waive it completely. What they already paid stays on the record.
The season is over, a few never paid
Stop collecting. The request closes, reminders stop, and the unpaid money stays on the record in History.
An order fell through
Cancel the request. Nobody owes it, it drops out of every balance, and History shows it as cancelled.
Web and phone, same numbers
Managers get a full table with a sidebar on the web and a stacked summary on a phone. Everyone sees the same balances.
What it does not do
Rinkmate tracks money, it does not move it. There is no payment processing and we never take a cut, so your team still pays with Venmo, Zelle, cash or whatever it already uses, and you record how it arrived. Automatic reminders go to players who are behind, and a manager decides when to send a manual one.
Frequently asked questions
Can I split team dues into installments?
Yes. Split a request into 2 to 12 payments with any amounts you like, as long as they add up to the total. A $760 league fee can be $140 now, $220 in a month and $400 later. Pick how often they come due, then tap any payment to change its amount or date.
What if someone wants to pay the whole season at once?
Record the full amount. Payments fill the earliest due date first, so one payment of $760 covers all three installments. That player is paid up, is not reminded about later installments, and shows as paid up on your balances.
What happens when I add a jersey order or another fee mid-season?
Create it as its own request. Everyone's balance now includes it, so a player who already paid the whole league fee owes only the jerseys. If someone pays their full balance, one payment is split across both requests automatically.
Does Rinkmate collect or process the money?
No. Rinkmate tracks who owes what and who has paid. Your team still settles up with Venmo, Zelle, cash or however it already does, and you record how it arrived. We never take a cut.
Can players see who else owes?
No. Players see their own balance and a team total, without names. Only managers see who has paid and who is behind.
Can I give one player a different amount or waive their dues?
Yes. On any player you can change what they owe for a request, or waive it completely. Their installment schedule scales to match and what they already paid stays on the record.
What if I record a payment by mistake?
A manager can remove a payment from the player's balance sheet. It comes off their total and the balances update.
How do reminders work?
You can send a reminder to everyone who owes, or to one player, and each person gets a push with their own balance and anything overdue. Reminders can also go out automatically two days before each payment, only to players who are behind, with exactly what they owe to catch up.
What is the difference between stopping collection and cancelling a request?
Stopping collection closes a request but keeps the unpaid money on the record, which is right when the season ended and a few people never paid. Cancelling is for a request nobody should owe, like an order that fell through. It disappears from balances and totals, and History shows it as cancelled. You can only cancel before anything has been collected.
Can I send everyone their balance in the group chat?
Yes. Copy balances gives you a ready-to-paste list of who owes what, and Copy message gives you a personal note for one player to send however you like.
Does this work on the web and on phones?
Yes. On the web managers get a full table with a sidebar of totals and what is coming up. On a phone the same information stacks into a summary and a list. Players see their own balance in either place.
