A sports team schedule template that actually works
A good schedule answers the same questions every week: when, where, against whom and what to bring. Here are the columns worth having and how to turn the spreadsheet into something your team can RSVP to.
The columns every schedule needs
- Date and start time
- Type: game, practice or other event
- Opponent (for games)
- Location with the specific field, court or rink
- Home or away
- Arrival time if it differs from start
- Notes: jersey color, what to bring
Check for conflicts before you share it
Look for double-booked facilities, teams playing twice in a day and games that overlap a holiday. A five minute pass saves a forfeit.
Turn the spreadsheet into an RSVP-able schedule
A spreadsheet tells your team what is scheduled. It does not tell you who is coming. In Rinkmate, import the file as CSV or XLSX, review each row (malformed lines and duplicates are flagged) and every event becomes something players can answer in, out or maybe.
