A team budget template for the season
A team budget does not need to be complicated, but it needs to exist. When you know what the season costs, dues feel fair and there are no surprises.
List every cost
- League or registration fees
- Facility rental: ice, field, court or pitch time
- Officials: referees or umpires
- Uniforms and equipment
- Tournaments: entry and travel
- Insurance
- Social: end-of-season party or awards
Divide by the people you will actually have
Divide by the number of players you can count on, not the full roster on paper. If a few players might drop out, add a small buffer, 5 to 10 percent, so the rest do not get a second bill.
Decide the payment schedule
One payment at the start is simplest. Splitting into two reduces the burden. Set deadlines and say what happens if someone misses one.
Track it in one place
Record what was collected and what was spent. A running total makes it easy to answer the question every season: where did the money go?
Use the calculator
Our free team dues calculator turns a list of costs into a per-player amount, with a buffer. When you are ready to collect, the dues tracker shows who has paid.
